Coordinate Reference Systems, an extensive introduction

Posted by simboss on March 19, 2006

This small paper has been written by me and Daniele Romagnoli, a friend of mine who is doing his master thesis at the NATO Undersea Research Centre (NURC) in La Spezia. It aims to be an introduction to the Spatial Referencing World with special focus on ISO 19111 and OGC Topic 2 "Spatial Referencing by coordinates". It is a work in progress which was intended to be more of an exercise for writing in english. It is therefore subject to changes, additions and integrations, but we think that it could be helpful for whover is approaching Coordinate Reference Systems for the first time in the OGC-ISO context.

The paper can be downloaded here.
